Secret coves with no road

The coastline between Saranda and Ksamil is dotted with tiny pebble coves that have no road access at all. Reach them off-road and you can have crystal-clear water entirely to yourself, even in August.

Cold War tunnels and bunkers

Hidden in the hillsides are the tunnels and bunkers built during Albania’s communist era — vast, echoing concrete spaces now reclaimed by nature. Standing inside one is a strange, unforgettable glimpse into 20th-century history.

River pools for a wild swim

Inland, the rivers carve out quiet, cool pools that are perfect for a dip on a hot day. There are no signs and no crowds — just the sound of water and the mountains around you.

Shepherds’ trails and hilltop viewpoints
